Thailand gives water solution to Queenslands Drought

BANGKOK, Aug 5 - His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on Thursday gave permission to Australia's state of Queensland to use his innovative techniques of artificial rainmaking to combat the region’s ongoing drought.

Prof Dr Soottiporn Chittmittrapap, secretary-general of the Office of theNational Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), said the Thai foreign ministry received a letter from Queensland's premier seeking His Majesty's approval to use the monarch’s artificial rain-making techniques to solve the drought in the state.

Dr Soottiporn said that Queensland will coordinate with the NRCT and the Bureau of Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation regarding the operation process of artificial rainmaking.

The premier of Queensland stated in his letter that the development of the rainmaking reflects the Thai king's wisdom which is valuable to the world community, said Dr Soottiporn.

King Bhumibol has devoted himself to study and develop the artificial rain technique since 1955 as rainfall is considered crucial for the majority of Thai people whose lives depend on agriculture, while drought remains a common problem in some parts of the country, particularly the Northeast.

After many experiments by His Majesty and the rainmaking team, the operation produced a successful outcome. "Royal Rain" was officially named by the Thai cabinet in 1974, with the formation of the “Royal Rain-Making Operation Office” under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives in the following year.

The best E Networks for Thailand and Australia - free ระบบเครือข่ายอิเล็กโทรนิคที่ดีทีสุด-ประเทศไทยและออสเตรเลีย

Finally we have the solution to everyone's question... What is the Best E Network???

thailand

 australW

The answer is ...
There are many, because we are not all the same!
Report by Phill Smith
How it started
We found there are many people sharing links between Aus and Thai but on many platforms and thought there must be a better to consolidate the group share resources.  As we began the research and connected with the different groups (age & lifestyle) it become obvious that each Network has certain attributes that suit the groups.

The reality is we are all different, some of us like to be in Pack and others like to be private or independent.
Our Focus is linking People from Thailand and West Australia on platforms for Social and Business. The home page includes a brief introduction to each of the Networks and how we believe they offer Value.

We have road tested many Networks to determine their suitability for the categories of Community, Travel and Business

Now it's "up to you" (lair-o Dae Khun) visit the AusWaThai Best E Networks page and see for yourself, it's all free.

Each network is displayed on the webiste, we have also created a forum article on each network so you can post comment (feedback).  If you don't wish to post comment to the forum your welcome to send us a reply via the email at networks@austhai.biz

My Lawyer had his credit Cards stolen - Be prepared!

NEW YORK - MAY 20: In this photo illustration...A corporate LAWYER sent the following out to the employees in his company:

This is really good and valuable stuff to pass on, particularly the phone numbers at the bottom.

Picture right
Report by Aaron Wilson
Aaron is an Account Exec with Central Ins Brokers in Perth W.A.

1. Next time you order cheques, have only your initials (instead of your first name) and surname put on them. If someone takes your cheque book, they will not know if you sign your cheques with just your initials or your first name, but your bank will know how you sign your cheques.

2. Do not sign the back of your credit cards. Instead, put "PHOTO ID REQUIRED".

3. When you are writing cheques to pay on your credit card accounts, DO NOT put the complete account number on the "For" line. Instead, just put the last four numbers. The credit card company knows the rest of the number, and anyone who might be handling your cheque as it passes through all the cheque processing channels won't have access to it.

Cheque sample for a fictional bank in the Unit...4. Place your work phone number on your cheques instead of your home phone. If you have a PO Box, use that instead of your home address. If you do not have a PO Box, use your work address. Never have your Centrelink Number printed on your cheques. You can add it if it is necessary, but if you have it printed, anyone can get it.

5. Run the contents of your wallet through a photocopy machine. Do both sides of each licence, credit card, etc. You will know what you had in your wallet and all of the account numbers and phone numbers to call and cancel. Keep the photocopy in a safe place (not your wallet). I also carry a photocopy of my passport when travelling either here or abroad We've all heard horror stories about fraud that's committed on us in stealing a name, address, Social Security number, credit cards.

Unfortunately I, an attorney, have first-hand knowledge because my wallet was stolen last month. Within a week, the thieves ordered an expensive monthly mobile phone package, applied for a VISA credit card, had a credit line approved to buy a Dell computer, received a PIN number from DMV to change my driving record information on-line, and more.

Passport PhotosBut here's some critical information to limit the damage in case this happens to you or someone you know:

1. We have been told we should cancel our credit cards immediately, but the key is having the toll free numbers and your card numbers handy so you know whom to call. Keep those where you can find them.

2. File a police report immediately in the jurisdiction where your credit cards, etc., were stolen. This proves to credit providers you were diligent, and this is a first step toward an investigation (if there ever is one).

3. But here's what is perhaps most important of all: (I never even thought to do this.)

Call the three national credit reporting organizations immediately to place a fraud alert on your Tax File Number your passport number and driver’s licence number. I had never heard of doing that until advised by a bank that called to tell me an application for credit was made over the Internet in my name. The alert means any company that checks your credit knows your information was stolen, and they have to contact you by phone to authorise new credit. By the time I was advised to do this, almost two weeks after the theft, all the damage had been done. There are records of all the credit checks initiated by the thieves' purchases, none of which I knew about before placing the alert. Since then, no additional damage has been done, and the thieves threw my wallet away. This weekend someone handed it in. It seems to have stopped them dead in their tracks.

Now, here are some numbers which you might need to contact if your wallet etc has been stolen:

1. Visa Card Australia - 1800 621 199
2. Visa Card International - 1800 450 346

AustCham Thailand Members are Populating in Longdo

Australian Commerce has a substantial presence in Thailand.

It's why so many Australian owned/managed venues are populating across the Longdo Map
Reporter:  Phill Smith

It wasn't until we were introduced to AustCham Thailand that we discover the prominence of Australia, as Business owners and/or Managers. So with the help of the ever enthusiastic people of Longdo we embarked on a "Joint venture project" to populate Aussie Venues on Thailands Longdo Map.

Finding Aussie Venues became a "Needle in a haystack"

All known Aussie Govt., agencies we approached but they had no interest in the concept (most drew the curtain of "privacy laws"?  What the !  where talking about Business not Facebook!

We got tired of submitting writing requests (no one reads the content) and receiving the standard template response ... refer this (faulty website).  So what's is the job satisfaction?  "mai ben rai"

Fortunately we had some good luck, we found AustCham Thailand.

I had not idea just how substantial Australian Busines in Thailand is until I glanced at the AustCham Thailand website.
Their Key Features:
Promotion of business between Australia and Thailand
Representation and dialogue between AustCham, Thai Government and other business groups
Providing a dynamic networking, social and sponsorship platform
Community Services

The AustCham Management and staff have been a constant source of energy and synergy. Whether your a visitor on Business or Social their DOORS ARE OPEN. It's a productive culture and the reason I became a member.

The highlight has been the AustCham's people network, it's quite remarkable! The monthly sundowners are the talk of Business Bangkok, it's a must do event.

The opportunity to meet the Expat community on a quality social platform is a credit to the organisers, it's clear evidence of their success.

RULES FOR BEING HUMAN

You will receive a body
You may like it or hate it, but it will be yours for the entire period this time around.

You will learn lessons
You are enrolled in a full-time school called “life on planet earth”. Every person and incident is your teacher. Each day you will have the opportunity to learn lessons. You may like the lesson, or think them irrelevant or stupid.

There are no mistakes-only lessons
Growth is a process of trial and error-in other words, a process of experimentation. The “failed experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiment that ultimately “works”.  A lesson is repeated until learned.

It is presented in various forms until you learn it. When you have learned it, you can then go on to the next lesson. If you are here, there are still lessons to be learned.

If you don’t learn the easy lessons, they get harder Discomfort is one way the universe gets your attention.

You’ll know you’ve learned a lesson when your actions and behaviors change.
Only action can transforms knowledge into wisdom.

“There” is better than “Here”
When your “there” has become a “here”, you’ll see another “there” that now looks better than “here”.

There is no right or wrong-but there are responsibilities and consequences. The Universe doesn’t judge us, but it gives us continual opportunities to balance and learn.

What you make of your life is up to you
You have the tools and resources.
What you do with them is up to you. The choices are yours.
Your answers lie inside you. Living skillfully, gracefully, and with purpose, involves developing the ability to listen and trust.

You’ll tend to forget all this.

You can remember any time you wish!!
