Suvarnabhumi airport has the world’s fastest WiFi service, according to a study released in June.
Speed-test websiteRottenwifi.comcreated a graphicshowing results of tests it conducted on quality and speeds of WiFi at more than 130 airports, in which Suvarnabhumi came out on top.
The Top 10 airport WiFi speeds included five in Europe, two in the United States and three in Asia. The specialist website said the average Suvarnabhumi WiFi speed topped all airports at 41.45 megabits per second, well ahead of the airport in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where the speed was measured at 30.99 Mbps.
The airports serving Dublin, Ireland (19.45 Mbps), Vilnius, Lithuania (18.04 Mbps) and Helsinki (17.46 Mbps) rounded out the fastest five.
Two other Asian airports were in the top 10. Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali (16.01 Mbps) placed sixth, followed by Taiwan’s Kaohsiung International Airport (15.55) in seventh.
Travelwire Asia, a British multilingual travel magazine which operates on the internet, said the Suvarnabhumi speed was “pretty impressive. Suvarnabhumi provides two hours of WiFi for free after a quick registration.

Many people are curious about the wearing of certain colours in Thailand. Sometimes photographs coming from Thailand will show a mass of people wearing yellow, sometimes a river of pink and sometimes a sky blue.
It's as though the people all belonged to the same workplace and wore a uniform. Often the photographs will show Thais dressed in a sea of one colour, lining the streets to pay homage to King Bhumibol, Queen Sirikit, or the now deceased but still revered King Chulalongkorn.
Sometimes they will wear the "royal" colours to make a point at a political demonstration.
Wearing a particular colour does mean something in Thailand. It is based on ancient beliefs and strict Buddhists will wear a certain colour each day – even if the colour is not obvious. More recently however, the coloured tee-shirts have been worn to display loyalty to the monarchy at a time when the political situation was in danger of disintegrating into chaos.
Colour for each Day
There is one colour for each day of the week and although conforming to this dress code is not essential, many Thais like to adhere to the system and will consider it when dressing.
Sometimes it may be just to make sure they don’t wear the wrong colour on that day.
On the King’s birthday, December 5th, most people will try and wear yellow during the day and of course, they will have the yellow flag flying wherever they can. Ditto for Queen Sirikit’s birthday on August 12th, when blue takes precedence.
Pink became popular when the king left hospital last year after his illness, looking frail in a bright pink blazer. Within hours, pink shirts were on sale across the country and were being worn in their thousands to show solidarity and to help the king's recovery. Wearing pink, the Thais said, would bring the king good fortune and good health.
The draping of coloured ribbons and lengths of gauzy fabrics around sacred trees, on special "lucky" sites, on the prows of boats, on spirit houses, chedis and anything else which may influence the gods, is another aspect of this adherence to the special colours.

But as you walk through the covered walkway entrance, collect your bait,
and wonder out onto the decked walkways that follow the perimeter of the lake,
you are presented with a Shangri-La type vision.
Although hard to describe Bung Sam Lan as "pretty"
it has a rustic quaintness that will grow on you as the day passes.
The first thing that many anglers notice as they look across the lake, is
the heaving, boiling surface. Everywhere you look fish are topping, and upon
closer inspection, these are not just ordinary fish....some seem as big as
Dolphins! Some are! This immediately sets your heart racing, and its hard to
contain your excitement as you make your way around the lake to your bungalow.
Walking briskly now around to your fishing spot, a bungalow on stilts, your
eyes will be scanning for other anglers to see if they are getting any action.
First you see one, seems to be doing battle with a big fish, and then as you
pan round the waters edge you see another and another all playing big fish. By
now most anglers are asking themselves "Is this place for real?"
The atmosphere is then added to by an almighty crash as a 300LB Arapaima
erupts from the waters surface and slapping it's tail hard against the water to
mark it's territory. By the time you reach your bungalow, you will be shaking
with anticipation!
All around this lake, you will often hear the warm laughter and
conversation of Thai anglers, and international visitors alike content in their
day as they and their friends catch fish after fish after fish. Sitting around
on their pontoons in large groups sharing food, beer and smiles.
Your guide will have your rods set up in a jiffy, he casts your first bait
of the day...to discover what happens next, you really have to be here!
